Hi Everyone! My name is Shalla (pronounced Shay-la) and I am a photographer in the Portsmouth Seacoast area. My style of photography is photojournalistic with a touch of fashion flair….meaning I am not a sit and say cheese kind of gal. I love capturing candid, real moments and I believe that a picture truly is worth a thousand words.
In addition to my role of photographer, I am also a wife to an amazing man and a mother to two beautiful and happy girls. Which also makes me a chef (I use this term loosely as the extent of my cooking talents include baking cookies and cakes…my husband is the true chef), a chauffeur, and a master diaper changer, as well as a whole host of other talents.
My favorite word…fabulous. You will hear me say it many times when I think I ‘got THE shot’ during your session.
My favorite food…difficult to say! I absolutely love food. My day to day favorite is peanut butter; my husband would tell you I eat a jar a week. I love blueberry pancakes, cheese blintz, steak, burgers, and sweet potato fries. I would take a steak over a dessert anyday.
My other favorites include laughing, working out (cardio class is my favorite way to work out ), lazy rainy days, an ‘adventure’ with my husband and girls, being outdoors, family vacations (disney is always at the top of the list), watching movies, reading and anything else with my family.
Also, I find it important to mention that I make the best (seriously) carrot cake in the entire world. It is the only thing I can make better than anyone else I know. I am a failure at cooking, though my husband says its because I dont want to know how to do it or else I would have to cook instead of him and admittedly that is true. But seriously, if you get the chance to have my carrot cake in this lifetime you will agree.
