I know there havent been any posts…I literally was working around the clock and havent had time to post anything!
I headed out to Los Angeles for a few days this past week to work with the Susan G Komen Los Angeles Office to help share the story of some really amazing breast cancer survivors. I met the most inspiring women and I have to say I learned so much and now am busting with information that I am telling anyone that will listen. I meet a LOT of women through Eye Sugar Photography and I feel it is now so important to share this information.
I will tell you I am completely shocked by the statistics…girls as young as 12 years old are being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Women in their 20′s, 30′s and 40′s are being diagnosed in alarming numbers…this is no longer a disease that targets women in their 50′s+. You must be diligent and regularly do self exams and make sure you follow up with your doctor if their is anything questionable. The scariest thing I learned from these women is that their doctors told them they were too young, they didnt have breast cancer. They were wrong.
ONE IN EIGHT WOMEN WILL BE DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER THIS YEAR…IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY IT IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH IN WOMEN. This is a very scary statistic ladies…early detection is key!
I wanted to share some images from the days of the women who inspired me with their radiance, their strength and their hope. I fell in love with all of these women! I am going to fight the fight with them…I am working on fundraising ideas and a PSA will be running in California using their images.
